Ok I gotta let you know a secret. We're switching to concrete candle jars. When I say switching I mean it. For the last 2 years we only really sold glass jar containers with our candles. When we first started this in 2020 we felt that was the best move at the time. Since then till now, Sarah has really taken a hold of this project. We now mix cement, use molds and create really lovely patterns on our jars to bring out the beauty in your experience with our candles.
Are Concrete Candle Vessels Safe?
Concrete is a safe material to use to create these so long as its "sealed". From the team at KC Concrete they state: "Concrete is made up entirely of non-combustible materials, this lack of flammability makes it the perfect base for a fire pit. What concrete will do is expand when exposed to high temperatures, this could potentially cause cracking"
So what did we get from that?
1. Concrete is made of up of things that generally don't catch fire
2. It's so safe they use them for fire pits
So why then use it for a candle jar?
Candle jars traditionally are glass - not cement. Usually to get this upgrade or this sort of jar you would have to either:
